At South West Sydney Lions Club, we love to support the young social change makers and future leaders who are passionate about creating positive change to their school and community.

Hence, through collaboration with Canley Vale High School and St Johns Park High School, South West Sydney Lions Club recently had the honour of awarding two deserving students with the South West Sydney Lions Club Leadership Award alongside a $100 cheque.

With the aim to further encourage their civic spirit and aspirations, the South West Sydney Lions Club Leadership Award acknowledges students who have shown and made outstanding contributions to their local school and community.

We congratulate Charita Pin from Canley Vale High School and Nancy Hong Nhung Diep from St Johns Park High School for their hard work and invaluable efforts to their community.

We would also like to thank the teachers and staff from Canley Vale High school and St Johns Park High School for their kindness and generosity in allowing us to present the South West Sydney Lions Club Leadership Award.

South West Sydney Lions Club at Cabramatta's Annual 2017 Moon Festival

We had a blast at the Cabramatta Moon Festival with lots going on at our stall. Thankfully, the Good Fairies were with us and they attracted a line of kids who had their faces painted into all sorts of spectacular animals and cartoon characters. The weather was nice and breezy and the roads were filled with people from various demographics who all took their time to celebrate their Sunday at the annual festival.

South West Sydney Lions Club spent the day selling raffle tickets with proceeds going towards the Lions Cord Blood Foundation Inc. and other deserving causes. With the raffle soon to be drawn on Sunday the 8th of October, participants are in the running to win a $300 Woolworths voucher prize. Our members looked after the crowd by selling lots of chilled water and soft drinks and we had other mini activities like beer pong and the bottle flip to keep everyone entertained.

We hope to get the Lions name out there and show people what Lions do. Our Club consists mostly of young individuals who want to use their creativity and skills to give back to the community and help those in need. We will definitely be back at the Cabramatta Moon Festival in 2018 for more fun activities so keep an eye out for us at big events in case you might see us there!
